Score 91/100 · Drink 2006-2021, Robert Parker, Feb 2004

The outstanding 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape Confidence Vigneronne possesses an opaque ruby/purple color in addition to a sumptuous bouquet of black raspberries intermixed with creme de cassis, licorice, wood smoke, and pepper. Full-bodied, rich, backward, and unevolved, it boasts abundant extract and richness as well as moderate tannin. Give it 2-3 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 12-15. Readers should be seeking out the wines of this serious estate as prices do not yet reflect the quality. An Alain Corcia Selection, various American importers, including Charmer Industries, NY; tel.
