The 2020 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru is also very impressive, bursting with aromas of raspberries, cherries, orange rind, rose petals and spices. Full-bodied, deep and layered, it's rich and fleshy, framed by bright acids and ripe, powdery tannins, and concluding with a saline finish.
The 2020 Romanée Saint-Vivant Grand Cru has a beautifully-detailed bouquet, very floral, succinct, poised and focused. This gradually unfolds in the glass delivering pressed violet and hints of Indian ink. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, silky smooth and poised, just a judicious touch of white pepper with a caressing finish. Understated and classy, this is built for ageing, but will be damned difficult to resist in its flush of youth.
