Tasting notes
Medium red. Fresh, minerally aromas of blackberry, dark plum, licorice and bitter chocolate. At once creamy and gripping in the mouth, with a liqueur-like ripeness nicely buffered by mineral energy. Conveys a lighter touch than most of these 2009s. The long finish shows fine-grained tannins. Really spreads out on the end to saturate the palate. Alain Meunier picked early in 2009 but still finds most of these wines a bit heavy; he told me that he did not acidify.

(13.6% alcohol) Good medium red. Slightly reduced aroma of black raspberry, crushed rock, exotic spices and game. Then juicy and bright in the mouth, with good floral lift contributing to an impression of intensity. In a rather powerful style, and a bit warm on the back end. The broad finish shows considerable tannins and a hint of dark chocolate.
