The 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Cras 1er Cru offers fleshy ripe red cherries, strawberry and bergamot notes on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with a pastille-like purity on the opening, fine acidity and a pleasing edginess on the chalky-textured finish. Very fine.

Just below Les Damodes, mid slope on red clay and limestone. Tank sample. Fragrantly dark and spicy. Lightish body but peppery and dark fruited on the palate, the tannins are super-fine. Delicate for 2018. (JH)
