2009 Pierre Peters L'Etonnant Monsieur Victor TB17

The 2009 L’Etonnant Monsieur Victor, a new wine from Rodolphe Péters is a blend of the best tank of 2009 Chétillons and a tank of Réserve Oubliée. This is the best bottle of the 2009 I have tasted yet. Rich, ample and radiant, in the best style of the year, the Etonnant Monsieur Victor is superb today. Lemon confit, peach, spice, white flowers and brioche shape the generous, inviting finish. I confess at the outset I did not really see the rationale of sacrificing the best tank of Chétillons for the Monsieur Victor, but this bottle may have changed my mind. This is a superb showing.
