Score 90/100 · Drink 2019-2027, Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate, Oct 2019

The 2017 Nine Yards Chardonnay has a nose of ripe spiced pear, cinnamon apples, sweetcorn and expressive oak tones. On the palate, the wine shows a focused balance with a clean and correct structure that is elegant and complex. There is a precision to the finish, with soft, integrated oak influences of vanilla and nutmeg that linger with spiced pear and lemon panna cotta flavors. Made with grapes that were crushed and pressed immediately after being destemmed, the resulting wine spent 10 months on the lees in 228-liter French oak barrels, 70% new. 11,000 bottles made.
