Score 89-90/100 · Drink 2004-2012, Robert Parker, Feb 2004

The opaque blue/purple-colored 2001 Cotes du Rhone-Villages Seguret Grande Reserve reveals a hint of vanilla in its blockbuster bouquet of black fruits, licorice, and chocolate. Full-bodied, with excellent concentration and purity in addition to a big, broad-shouldered mouthfeel, and a long finish with silky tannin, it should drink well for 7-8 years, possibly longer. Domaine de Mourchon offers a strong case for being the finest estate from Seguret. Importers: Olivier Daubresse, Vini France Imports, Arlington, VA; tel. (703) 271-6185; Riservati, Seattle, WA; tel.
