Tasting notes
The 2009 Chablis Fourchaume flows across the palate with layers of grapefruit, lime, smoke and ash. The Fourchaume shows quite a bit of energy and vibrancy all the way through to the inviting, harmonious finish. I especially like the minerality and verve here, especially when compared to the Vieilles Vines. This is a complete, beautifully balanced wine from Vrignaud.

The 2009 Chablis Fourchaume flows across the palate with layers of grapefruit, lime, smoke and ash. The Fourchaume shows quite a bit of energy and vibrancy all the way through to the inviting, harmonious finish. I especially admire the minerality and verve here, especially when compared to the Vieilles Vignes. This is a complete, beautifully balanced wine from Vrignaud. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. This tiny domaine is located just outside Chablis proper. Guillaume Vrignaud and his family own 20 hectares of vineyards, which they have recently begun converting to biodynamic farming. Most of the wines are vinified and aged in steel, although some of the higher-end wines see oak, as described above. I especially like some of the simpler, entry-level wines in this range.
