Cask sample. Much more to this than to the village wine. Should achieve greater things eventually – even if I suspect this sample is not the freshest. Not a bad price. (JR)

The 2021 Aloxe-Corton Clos du Chapitre 1er Cru comes from a two-hectare plot shared with Génot-Boulanger in the center of the village. It has a well-defined bouquet with raspberry and briar scents, gaining intensity in the glass while maintaining admirable focus. The palate is well-balanced with sappy red fruit, a little rustic in style, edgy and spicier than the Village Cru with a sapid, briny finish. Very fine.
