The 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Vieilles Vignes showed well, with an attractive red and black-fruited style as well as medium body, fine, nicely integrated tannins, some peppery, garrigue, and spicy nuances, and a good finish. It's a balanced, pure, incredibly satisfying Châteauneuf du Pape to drink over the coming decade.

The 2019 Vieilles Vignes is a seriously styled Saumur-Champigny. It's taut and focused, and has spent 14 months maturing in 400-liter and larger format oak giving a rounded, supple texture to this wine. The soft tannins are finely textured, making for an almost slippery wine. It is a ripe yet traditional style of Cabernet Franc that offers classicism and varietal typicity at a reasonable price point.
