Full bottle 1,651 g.  Smells like plum jam and tastes like framboise. Massive intensity, concentration, sweetness and power – almost more port-like than wine-like. Coffee, dark chocolate, amarena cherries. The tannins are so glossy and molten that it feels as if they've turned into ganache. There is absolutely nothing restrained about this wine. No holds barred. It is unabashedly revelling in luxurious, outrageous excess. And somehow, it gets away with it. Just not a wine for Pinot lovers. (TC)

A step up in price, the 2021 Languedoc Tête De Bélier is based on Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Carignan, raised all in oak. It clearly brings another level of richness and depth, with impressive darker raspberry, mulberry, spicy oak, leather, and smoky nuances all developing with time in the glass. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has good mid-palate depth, some ripe yet building, firmer tannins, terrific balance, and a great finish. It needs a year of bottle age, but this is a rock-solid, undeniably successful 2021 that will shine through 2031.
