Tasting notes
Appealing aromas of pot-au-feu (a French dish reminiscent of pot roast) are found in the aromatics of the medium to dark ruby-colored 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon. Medium-bodied, it reveals admirable depth of fruit, a dense, chewy texture, and loads of blackberry flavors. Were it not for some alcoholic warmth discerned in the finish, this wine would have merited a higher score. Projected maturity: 2005-2012. Importer: Cape Classics, New York, NY; tel. (212) 686-1300

(contains 10% merlot; aged in 50% new oak) Bright red-ruby color. Tight, nicely defined aromas of raspberry, minerals, lead pencil, bitter chocolate, black licorice, mocha and mint. Sweet, minty and penetrating, with concentrated, urgent red berry, tobacco and spice flavors and vibrant acidity. Manages to be both supple and firm. Finishes with noble, harmonious tannins and excellent length.
