Score 92/100 · Drink 2026-2034, Kristaps Karklins, Wine Advocate, Nov 2025
Matured in 228-liter oak barrels (15% new) and disgorged in November 2024 with a dosage of three grams per liter, the NV Extra-Brut Les Sens Boisés Largillier hails from the clay-dominant section of the vineyard. It reveals aromas of mirabelle plum and cherry mingling with Sichuan pepper and a touch of vanilla. The palate is full-bodied and lush, with a rich fruit core, succulent acidity and a delicately phenolic finish. Entirely from the 2020 vintage—a dry year with virtually no rainfall for over three months—grape clusters averaged only 80 grams at harvest, yielding small, concentrated berries. The oak, still present today, should integrate more harmoniously with time in bottle.
