Black raspberries combine with mentholated herbs and dark chocolate as the 2021 Syrah Red Mountain Estate blossoms in the glass. This is round and supple with fresh acidity and racy red and black fruits, all underscored by tactile minerals and hints of clove. It's powerful and youthfully tense, with a core of fine tannins and a tart wild berry concentration that lingers on. The tannin management here is exceptional.

More Hermitage-like with its concentration and structure, the 2021 Syrah Red Mountain Estate boasts a vivid ruby hue as well as powerful aromatics of crème de cassis, crushed stone, new leather, and graphite. With classic Red Mountain minerality, full-bodied richness, lots of tannins, and a great finish, hide this beauty in the cellar for 4-5 years if you can. It's going to see its 20th birthday in fine form.
