Tasting notes
If this 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape isn't as ripe and supple as some, that's fine, because it offers up a potpourri of lavender, thyme and dried spices as compensation. Black olive and cocoa notes chime in on the long, firm finish of this full-bodied wine.

Bright ruby-red. A pungent bouquet evokes dried cherry, garrigue and game along with a peppery nuance. Juicy, smoke-tinged dark berry and cured meat flavors are complemented by suggestions of succulent herbs and licorice that gain strength with air. Closes on a slightly dry note; firming tannins come in late to add grip.
Tasted blind. Mid crimson. Light and lively with lots of energy but not that much concentration. Spicy. Good balance. Ripe phenolics. (JR)
