Tasting notes
(65% grenache, 20% syrah and 15% mourvedre, no oak): Dark purple. Deep aromas of cassis, blackberry, olive, licorice and lavender. Large-scaled and broad, offering smoky dark fruit flavors and slow-building florality. This rather powerful, structured wine should be slow to unfurl.

Dark crimson. Sweet and dense and concentrated. Dry finish and a little bit of liquorice. Falls away a little on the end. (JR)
Composed of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre, the 2010 Vacqueyras reveals an opaque, almost black color along with notes of smoke-infused black cherry and black raspberry fruit intermixed with notions of forest floor and lavender. Intense and full-bodied with terrific texture, purity and length, it should drink well for 8-10 years. (Not yet released) Importer: Signature Imports, Portland, OR; tel. (503) 274-0217
