Score 92/100 · Drink 2014-2022, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Apr 2015

We finished the tasting with an older vintage of the la Ciaude. Like the 2013, the 2010 Minervois la Ciaude comes from a single parcel of rocky, clay soils and old vines of Carignan, Syrah and Grenache. Deep, rich and textured, with superb concentration in its raspberry, violets and mineral-laced style, it opens up beautifully in the glass, has excellent mid-palate depth, medium to full-bodied richness and a seamless texture. Slightly deeper and richer than the 2013, yet not quite as polished or pure, this beauty is still youthful, and will continue to drink nicely through 2022.

Jean-Paul Tollot & Anne Gros

Anne Gros is better known for her estate in Vosne-Romanée, as is her partner Jean-Paul Tollot for his family’s Domaine Tollot-Beaut in Chorey-lès-Beaune. Beyond Burgundy, however, the duo makes some impressive wine in Cazelles in the Minervois, working with higher-altitude vineyards.
