Tasting notes
Vinified in small barrels, the 2017 Grande Cuvée Trockenbeerenauslese No 6 Nouvelle Vague blends Welschriesling and Chardonnay in equal parts. The bouquet is already fascinating: pure, deep, precise and complex in its mixture of spicy and toasty notes with perfectly ripe and candied lemon peel aromas. Thrillingly clear and precise on the palate, this is a straight and linear but also rich and juicy cuvée with beautiful toasty and oaky notes like from bourbon whiskey. The finish is piquant and salty, very filigreed and even complex. A great wine with intensity, complexity and finesse. There is 8% alcohol with 273.5 grams per liter of residual sugar. Tasted in March 2020.

Very intense and very sweet, this has a variety of orchard fruit with some orange-marmalade notes. The palate has a smooth, juicy and fluid texture with good acidity balance. Flavors of lemon sponge cake and lemon pudding prevail. Drink or hold.
