Score 89-91/100 · Drink 2024-2035, Neal Martin, Jan 2023
The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet Clos Saint-Jean 1er Cru has a pretty honeysuckle and jasmine-scented nose that would benefit from just a little more vigour. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, quite tensile and steely, certainly demonstrating more terroir expression on the finish compared to the Village Cru. Give it a year or two in bottle.

The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jean opens in the glass with aromas of sweet orchard fruit, white flowers and buttery pastry, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny palate with a pretty core of fruit and racy animating acids.
