Score 91/100 · Drink 1993-2003, Robert Parker, Dec 1993
Given its obscurity and the fact that no one would believe it could be this good, this is a wine to buy at auction. It offers a sweet, ripe, roasted bouquet, a deep, plummy/garnet color, rich, fat, chewy fruit flavors, and a spicy finish. I was impressed! Drink it over the next decade.

About the producer

d'Armailhac
Ch. d’Armailhac is a Pauillac Fifth Growth owned by the Rothschilds, who also own Ch. Mouton Rothschild. Lavished with the same attention to detail and having benefitted from extensive investment in recent years, this estate can offer brilliant value in comparison to its First Growth sibling.
