Score 17.5/20 · Drink 2009-2014, Julia Harding MW, jancisrobinson.com, Apr 2011

Smells much more youthful than the Tradition 2005. Lime and a hint of toast. Bright, tight and intense. Corseted fullness and long limey finish. (JH)

Attractively honeyed and peachy, quite soft on the mid palate with a fresh and lightish finish. Already showing some signs of development. (JH)

The 2004 Riesling Heiligenstein might slack off in sheer intensity from the Gaisberg, but exhibits lovely floral, herbal and pit fruit aromas, as well as a more intricate sense of fruit and mineral interplay. This will be fascinating to follow from bottle. Importer: Terry Theise Estate Selections, imported by Michael Skurnik Wines, Inc., Syosset, NY; tel. (516) 677-9300
