Tasting notes
The 2017 Riesling Ried Heiligenstein originates from a vintage with some botrytis from mid-October onwards, and while this was stringently selected, some of this concentrated richness is here. This is a held-back release reserved for restaurant clients. St John’s Wort and dried peach, lovely and lifted, define the fragrant nose. The balm-like creaminess of evolution rounds out the slender, taut palate. Beautiful concentration is expressed as dried and fresh lemon peel, luminous, serene and cooling. This cooling, brightening effect lasts and lasts. This is just another reminder of what time does to Riesling, as beguiling as it may be in its first youth. (Bone-dry)

Moosbrugger's Riesling 2017 Zöbing Ried Heiligenstein "1ÖTW" has an intense yellow-golden color and opens with a deep and intense, elegant bouquet with very ripe and concentrated but precise and spicy-scented fruit aromas. Full-bodied and round on the palate, this elegant, complex and persistent Heiligenstein reveals intense and balanced fruit with lingering crystalline acidity and stimulating salinity. Lovely mineral in the finish. This is a very elegant and refined, terroir-driven Heiligenstein with remarkably purity and length. Great style. Tasted at Schloss Gobelsburg/Kamptal, September 2018.
