There's sweet dark fruit underneath but quite a bit of char on the top. Pushed quite far so the finish is slightly aggressive, almost over-concentrated but maybe it just needs a lot more time. (JH)
Very dark purplish crimson. Thick and dense but with confidence and verve. Not easy sweet points-scoring. Very youthful. Complete. Serious! (JR)
Even darker than the 2010. Extremely opulent nose – super-ripe! Heady, nearly Californian. Sweet start. Very lush. Wallow in it! (JR)
About the producer

Ch. Léoville-Poyferré is a Second Growth Saint-Julien property that was once part of the same estate as Ch. Léoville Barton and Ch. Léoville Las Cases. It has the most complex and varied soils of the three and produces the most voluptuous, seductive style of wine.
