Ch. Léoville Poyferré

Ch. Léoville-Poyferré is a Second Growth Saint-Julien property that was once part of the same estate as Ch. Léoville Barton and Ch. Léoville Las Cases. It has the most complex and varied soils of the three and produces the most voluptuous, seductive style of wine.

The original Léoville estate was established in 1638 and was split into three after the death of the Marquis de las Cases. The Marquis’s daughter, Jeanne, passed her third to her daughter who married the Baron Poyferré de Ceres – and that section became Ch. Léoville Poyferré.
