Dark ruby. Youthfully backward nose slowly reveals dark berries, tobacco and licorice, along with a deep undercurrent of smoked meat. Fresher on the palate, offering sweet red and dark berry liqueur flavors and strong finishing grip. A pretty serious style, and in need of patience.

Inky ruby. Strong blackberry and cassis on the nose, joined by lower-pitched licorice and cured tobacco notes. Deep, focused dark berry flavors are very sweet, almost liqueur-like, with a spicy, peppery kick on the back. Serious tannins give structure to the wine and carry through the finish. This very young, cellarworthy Vacqueyras includes 25% mourvedre.
