Also tasted as a tank sample and even better, the 2010 Domaine Vindemio Côtes du Ventoux Imagine, an even split of concrete tank aged Grenache and Syrah, boasts a dense, brooding personality with crazy levels of black currant, flowers, dusty minerality, pepper, and licorice all showing on the nose. Even more impressive on the palate and shockingly dense and structured, with brilliantly purity of fruit, a massively concentrated mid-palate, and thrilling amounts of ripe tannin on the finish, this is easily one of the top wines I’ve tasted from this up and coming Appellation and should not be missed by any lover of southern Rhône reds! It needs 2-3 years of bottle age, and will have upwards of 10-12 years of total longevity, possibly more. It gets a “Wow” in my book, and this crazy value should be purchased by the case.
