Good medium red. Pretty if restrained perfume of cherry and mint. Less rich and tactile than the Aigrots in the early going but precise and scented, displaying excellent cut to its rather medicinal black cherry, mineral and licorice flavors. Tight on the back end.

90-year-old vines – their oldest. Very subtle nose with real depth and – dare I say it? – minerality. Very far from straightforward sweet fruit. Still youthful but very convincing. Dry finish. (JR)
