Tasting notes
Smells like fresh garden clippings – a bit stemmy and a bit earthy. More vegetal on the palate – aha, could this be the infamous ladybird taint? It certainly does overwhelm the palate, and leaves it somewhat chewy. Not altogether unattractive flavours, but certainly not conventional. (RH)

The 2004 Beaune 1er Cru Grèves has a light and herbaceous nose that is missing some vigor. The palate is a little hard on the entry, very structured but missing fruit on the second half. This is another under-performing 2004.
Medium red. Slightly diffuse nose dominated by maraschino cherry. Fairly supple and sweet, but with a somewhat rustic leathery flavor. Can't quite match the premier cru for intensity or clarity but boasts good texture for the year and finishes firmly tannic and lively.
