Tasting notes
Score 91+/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2013

Medium red, a bit less saturated than the Chambolle villages. Ethereal high-pitched perfume of orange peel and sexy oak spices. At once dense and juicy, thick but weightless, with a seamless texture and flavors of red fruits and anise. Finishes very long and suavely tannic. These vines are situated at the Clos de la Roche side of the vineyard.

The 2010 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Combottes opens with freshly cut flowers, sweet spices and minerals. It shows lovely energy and plenty of verve in a medium-bodied, gracious style that is immensely appealing.

Tense and directed. Very rich and flattering and lovely and racy and terroiriste. Very exciting and concentrated. (JR)
