Tasting notes
The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Saint-Georges 1er Cru has a comparatively "old school" bouquet: sous-bois infused red fruit, hints of black tea and bay leaf. It presents fine delineation; however, returning after ten minutes, it loses some vigor and complexity. The palate is medium-bodied with a precise entry. Quite creamy in texture, there is a new oak veneer, but the fruit will assimilate that. It's linear with a dash of black pepper on the finish. Promising. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Offering up aromas of dark berries, red plums, sweet spices and a deft framing of new oak, the 2020 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Saint-Georges is medium to full-bodied, layered and complete, with a deep core of fruit, bright acids and powdery structuring tannins. This is a seamless, elegant wine that shows considerable promise.
