Tasting Notes
The nose is bright and highly expressive, leaping out of the glass with plenty of complexity, yet remaining composed and harmonious. It’s tactile and well-structured. Leading the way are pithy citrus fruits, particularly yellow-toned varieties, which then give way to subtle notes of baked goods—leaning towards Biscoff and a touch of nuttiness. Hints of mandarin follow through, complemented by a delicate floral essence. The palate mirrors the nose, with added depth from toasted notes, oak, and a fine salinity that integrates beautifully with its refined minerality. The mousse is clean and well-balanced—neither aggressive nor lacking—settling gracefully in the middle. The acidity is well-judged, leading to a long, mouth-watering finish. This is excellent.

The MV 20 is fabulous. It's not an obvious wine but rather a Champagne built on finesse and understatement more than anything else. Orchard fruit, white flowers, mint and chalk open first, followed by light tropical accents that appear with a bit of time in the glass. This is such a racy, classy Champagne. Disgorged: October 30, 2024.
