Score 91/100 · Drink 2005-2016, Daniel Thomases, Wine Advocate, Aug 2005
The 2001 Barbaresco Masseria is one of the best in the history of the house, a vivid garnet with ruby highlights, warm and expansive aromas of rose petals, licorice, and tar, and classy tannins which render more graceful the intensity of the finish. Drink: 2005-2016. Importer: Remy Amerique, New York, NY; tel. (212) 424-2202

Good full red. Red cherry, raspberry, minerals and rose petal on the fragrant nose. Silky entry, then highly complex and perfumed in the mouth, with great class and clarity of flavor. Lighter and less fat than Vietti's 2001 Barolos, but with no less intensity. A great Barbaresco.
