Tasting notes
Lurid ruby. Intense red berry liqueur, floral pastille and smoky aromas, along with hints of succulent herbs and Asian spices. Appealingly sweet and penetrating, offering concentrated, sharply focused black raspberry and boysenberry flavors and a touch of spicecake. Silky, slow-building tannins give shape to the fruit-driven finish, which lingers with impressive persistence and building sweetness.

The 2015 Morgon Cuvée Camille, which since its debut in 2013 comes from a lieu-diet in Côte du Py on granite soils, has a very expressive bouquet with wild strawberry and raspberry scents, a hint of clove in the background, perhaps even fennel. The palate is laden with raspberry and wild strawberry fruit, a pinch of sea salt and displaying beautiful delineation and harmony on the finish. What a gorgeous Morgon - one that is going to give several years of pleasure. It will be bottled without filtration the day after my visit.
