A blend of 60% Clairette, 20% Grenache Blanc and 10% each Bourboulenc and Roussanne, the 2018 Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc Cuvée Réservée is in a wonderful drinking window right now, blending honeyed-peach richness with citrusy freshness. Medium to full-bodied, it's round upfront, but gradually narrows to gain focus and length on the finish, adding elegant hints of fennel along the way.
Leading off the wines from Domaine Du Pégau, the 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc is another terrific effort that has a classic, mineral-laced style as well as plenty of peach, lemon, and honeysuckle aromas and flavors. It’s medium-bodied, fresh, and vibrant on the palate, and again, has this interesting mix of minerality and fruit.
