Tasting notes
Medium red. Briary dark fruit aromas are a bit dulled by chocolatey oak. Broad but quite dry, with chocolate in the foreground and deep soil tones in the background. Boasts good sweetness and breadth but comes across as a bit sullen today. Finishes with rather suave tannins and good grip, though, suggesting that this simply needs time in bottle.

Good dark red. Complex aromas of musky redcurrant, raspberry, game and spices. Supple and sweet on the palate, with a suaver texture than the village wines that preceded it in my tasting. Juicy and flavorful wine with a mineral component giving it precision and structure. Finishes with sweeter tannins than the village wines, and lingering ripe fruit.
