The 2023 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru has a nicely poised, mineral-driven bouquet that opens beautifully in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a keen thread of acidity. It's fresh, vibrant and demonstrates delicacy on the brioche-tinged finish. This is not for the long term, perhaps, but it's well crafted and seductive. Tasted blind at the BIVB offices in Chablis.

Much more beautiful than the Fôret. Just gorgeous and full of wet-stone appeal. Just what Chablis lovers seek. (JR)
