Tasting notes
The result of André van Resburg's replanting programme to reduce viruses' delaying effect. Mid crimson. Very Cabernet on the nose – almost cassis – but it tastes as though it needs to stretch out a bit – even more racking? Lots of apparently mineral character and certainly not sweet and alcoholic. Very dry, slightly pinched finish though certainly not industrial. (JR)

Dark, bright red. Deeply spicy aromas of cassis, chocolate, mint, mocha and sassafras. Ripe but classically dry, showing excellent breadth to its dark fruit and spice flavors. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins and very good length. This distinctly savory cabernet can't quite match the 2006 for depth or intensity of fruit.
RS 2.5 g/l, TA 5.6 g/l. 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot. Leafy, blackcurrant, tomato and a tobacco and smoke sort of tone. Showing lovely harmony now, leathery and dark with an almost Italian style bitterness. (RH)
