Tasting notes
The 2018 Beaune Les Grèves 1er Cru has sometimes contained whole-bunch fruit since 2007, although this year there is none. Strangely, you might be duped into thinking there are a few stems on the attractive and slightly earthy bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins and tart red cherry and strawberry fruit mixed with orange zest, leading to a simple finish that does not quite deliver the potential of this vineyard compared to other vintages. Not bad, but one for early drinking.
