Score 95/100 · Drink 2023-2040, Anne Krebiehl MW, Vinous, Feb 2024

The 2016 Chardonnay Gloria is grown at 300-325 meters on pure Leithakalk, giving ultra-low yields of around 25 hl/ha. Corn meal and a touch of hazelnut smoke show on the nose. The palate has even more smokiness, but now, at seven years of age, it also has an immense chalky creaminess. High concentration highlights ripeness, but the coolness and depth of limestone counters this, resulting in an intense picture of chalkiness. Length follows, ringing long with that chalk. (Bone-dry)
