Tasting notes
Revealing a jeweled pink/orange color, the 2008 Champagne Cuvée Paradis Brut Rosé takes on more layered and nutty aromas in its notes of hazelnut, ripe peach, crushed strawberries, and brioche. The palate is round, with a frothy mousse and a pithy texture through the finish. It’s approachable and showing well now, but it’s already showing a bit too much maturity for me to recommend it over the long haul. Disgorged November 2023.

Gratien's 2008 Brut Cuvée Paradis is a very pretty and also accessible wine for the vintage. White orchard fruit, flowers, smoke and slate flesh out in an effortless, creamy Champagne that can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring. This is an especially ample, creamy style for the year, yet all the elements are nicely balanced throughout.
65% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Noir, 10% Pinot Meunier, dosage 8 g/l, disgorged January 2016. Very rich nose and broad on the palate. Much less tight and focused than many other champagnes with a greenish finish. Very embryonic and a bit loose overall at the moment. (JR)
