A very elegant and sophisticated Chablis 1er Cru with impressive depth, but it’s also very clean and fresh. Fantastic creamy texture on the concentrated mid-palate, but also very stony and austere in the best sense of the word! Long, silky finish with so much chalky character. Drink or hold.

The 2019 Chablis Fourchaume 1er Cru is showing a bit of unnecessary wood on the nose, though that should be subsumed with bottle age. The palate is ripe and rounded with tropical notes on the entry. This is quite a "fat" Fourchaume vis-à-vis its peers and reveals a slight lack of tension on the finish. Still, there is fine focus and concentration, so enjoy this in its youth.
