Score 89/100 · Drink 2022-2027, Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate, May 2021
Unfolding in the glass, the 2018 Vineyard Selection Cabernet Sauvignon initially begins with bright, juicy red fruit tones of black plum, dark cherry and dusty black raspberry before a soft, round herbaceous note flutters to the nose with structured oak tones. Medium to full-bodied, the wine displays flavors of dried sage and dusty blackberry tones before showing an integrated expression of vanilla and cardamom, which then give way to firm tannins on the mid-palate. The wine concludes with a dusty and delightfully gripping finish and lingering tannic edge. Just over 91,000 bottles were made after resting for 18 months in 40% new French oak barrels. Give it one more year in bottle and drink until 2027.
