2014 Aloxe Corton Clos du Chapitre

The 2014 Aloxe Corton Clos du Chapître 1er Cru from Morey Blanc has a lovely red cherry and wild strawberry-scented bouquet that you might think comes from further north in say, Nuits-Saint-Georges. The palate has impressive substance, real weight and persistence in the mouth. There is plenty of juicy, slightly peppery red fruit with the new oak tangible on the finish, but singing from the same hymn sheet. Delicious -- no more, no less.
