Score 90/100 · Drink 2008-2028, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jul 2020
Roederer's 1988 Brut Vintage is showing well, offering up an inviting bouquet of butterscotch, toasted bread, dried fruits and honeycomb. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and fleshy, with a bright spine of acidity and a chalky, elegantly austere finish. It's less complete than the wines the house is producing today, but it's a delicious Champagne at full maturity.
