Tasting notes
Bright ruby. Pungent red berry and cherry aromas are complemented by garrigue, dried flowers and cracked pepper. Light-bodied red fruit flavors show moderate depth but attractive freshness, and finish with good persistence. Not a wine for fans of sheer size. (My bottle of the 2005 Secrets de Pignan was too volatile to recommend.)

This up-and-coming, increasingly serious estate, run by proprietor Eric Bonnet, produces a decent traditional cuvee of Chateauneuf du Pape. The 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape is slightly deeper than the 2006, but still medium-bodied, soft, and fruity. It offers notes of balsam wood, pine cones, and kirsch liqueur. It should be drunk over the next 4-5 years.
