Score 86-88/100 · Drink 2019-2027, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2017

The 2016 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Cherbaudes contains two-thirds whole bunch fruit and was only slightly touched by the frost. It has pretty red fruit on the nose, a little ferrous in style, loamy scents surfacing with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp and tensile with good tension. You can feel the calcaire tingling in the mouth after the wine has departed. It just attenuates a little when you want it to posses more weight. Hopefully it will land at the top of my banded score.
