Score 86/100 · Drink 1995-2002, Robert Parker, Jan 1997

The 1988 Mont Redon is a structured, austere style of Chateauneuf du Pape. While it does not possess the flamboyance and dramatic qualities of the 1989, it is good but restrained. I wonder how much more fruit and perfume it would have had if it had it not been fined and filtered prior to bottling? Mature: now-2002. Last tasted 6/95.
