30% whole bunch. No new oak. Tank sample. Lucky Famille Tawse to own all these vines! Transparent crimson. Masses of seductive fruit with underlying raciness and structure and no shortage of acidity. (JR)

The 2023 Beaune Clos du Roi 1er Cru feels a little diffuse on the nose, with Morello cherries and strawberry aromas, but it needs more cohesion. The palate is light and straightforward, perhaps too simple for a Clos du Roi, with a dash of pepper on the finish. Drink this over the next four to six years.
