Almost jammy sweetness. This is crazy – tasting this blind I would not say that this came from Burgundy! Hard to asses because, how to benchmark a wine like this? Is there residual sugar in this? (TC)

The 2023 Aloxe-Corton La Coutiere 1er Cru, which sees 30% new oak, has an earthy, austere nose that has a tough time following Magnien's seductive Gevrey cuvées. The palate is medium-bodied and fresh with crisp tannins and a touch of orange rind interlacing the dark berry fruit on the finish. This will serve you well for six or seven years.
