Tasting notes
Score 90/100 · Drink 2027-2040, Neal Martin, Jan 2026

The 2023 Morey-Saint-Denis La Forge de Tart 1er Cru has a little more intensity than the Village: blackberry, wild hedgerow and hints of tobacco that come through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chalky tannins, fresh and lightly spiced, a soupçon of meatiness/savoury notes on the finish. Enjoy over the next decade.

The 2023 Morey-Saint-Denis La Forge de Tart 1er Cru includes 25% whole bunch and less new oak than before. It has a very floral bouquet, with incense infusing the blackberry and blueberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and modest weight. There is more black than red fruit here, with a touch of tobacco leaf on the finish. Afford this two or three years in bottle.
